A Psalm of the Unheard
Hear my prayer; take heed our cries.
A Psalm of the Unheard
by David Drury, 2025
Hear my prayer; take heed our cries.
Evil finds favor in halls of justice,
but the righteous serve fifteen, or even thirty.
The rebellious receive mercy upon mercy.
Your enemies win; your allies fail.
First, our creed recedes; then nothing succeeds like greed.
The one without need easily ignores the one who bleeds.
I’ve noticed the meek have yet to inherit the earth.
They’re harassed and helpless, demeaned and deported.
Will the Lord be their shepherd in detention camps?
Intelligence that is artificial and stolen
is given honor and special status.
Intelligence that is human and earned
is somehow spurned among us.
